I talked to my vet already about Annie, it's only $90 to have her spayed, (if there's no complications and she isn't pregnant again, and I know she won't be cause I'm not letting her outside, so....) The only time she'll be outside is if I build an outdoor run for her and Justice. There are so many cats out here where I live it isn't funny! There was a cat that had kittens out here last summer, it was the lady who lived across the street from us, and she moved back to the road back behind us by down by the woods. She KNEW her cat was pregnant and didn't take it in the house. When she moved, she left it there, didn't try coming back after it or anything. The new people moved in and put some food and water out for Momma cause they felt so bad for her. And then one morning I went outside to find Momma and all her kittens under our truck. I coaxed them out with food so my hubby could leave, and for three days they stayed here, till I finally got fed up with the old neighbor being so none caring and pushing her responsibility onto others. So, I went out and bought a big bag of kitten food, scooped up the babies and Momma followed me. I went to the ladies wrap around porch, opened he bag of food and dumped it there, knocked on her door, no one answered, so I left. But as I was out in the road and walking off, I heard something, I turned around and there the lady was, at the opened door giving me a crappy look. Oh well.... The new neighbor had went to her and told her that her Momma cat had kittens and was at their house, she wouldn't go get them, she didn't care, so, I took them to her house for her. Then there's some older couple that lives back on her same road that has cats EVERYWHERE!! On the porch, in the garage, on their cars, in the yard, in the trees. They put food out for all of them, but I half want to go knock on the door and ask if they are spayed and neutered. I live on the outskirts of town, country like, and you wouldn't believe the cats out here. I can't afford to spay and neuter every cat out here, I wished I could, but I just can't, we've got 4 dogs, now 2 adult cats and 3 kittens and 3 turtles that we provide for and love. I wish people would get responsible and do the right thing out here....
Well, I started feeding the cats because one of my daughters had a friend that worked in a pet food factory and could give us free food. It is good food, too. But I knew if I fed the cats that I would only be helping them to reproduce even more. So I started getting them fixed. I had asked the local shelters for help but they were all already over burdened and would not even lend me a trap to trap the wild ones much less take any of the kittens. I have done it myself with some help from the family. So many people think of a cat as nothing other than a rodent. Some people think they can dump a cat out in a wooded area like this and that it will live but that is so untrue. They die a slow painful death. Cats are domestic animals and depend on humans for help to live. If only humans would realize it is their responsibility to help the creatures of the earth.

I had my fenced room made for me. It was about 30 years ago so it didn't cost much at the time. If you know someone that is handy maybe they could make one for you. They just need to know how to make the frame and then attach the fencing to it. I have seen some of the manufactured enclosures and they are nice but kind of expensive.
I know a woman that lives in western canada that has one that attaches to her house. She put in a cat door and the enclosure starts out narrow and then opens up into a good sized room. She has rescued about 8 cats and they love being able to go outside to watch the birds.

I used to raise and show Himalayan cats. A cat that is to be shown has to be very docile so it will let the judges handle it. We always handled the kittens from day one. Of course you don't want everyone doing it. I always gave my mothers a quiet room of their own away from noise and kids. These feral cats are the same. As long as feel safe they will be fine.
