Are those Puppy Mill picture the mill where she was? That just makes me sad to see those pictures (they expect them to drink that water).
My Vet was also telling me that APR took a bus load of Katrina dogs also, she helped Vet them before adoption.
I looked at a lot of rescues in the Atlanta area before I started volunteering at APR. This is a wonderful organization who's priority is the animals (dogs and cats). There are no ego's involved and they are truly thankful for everything they get (give). It makes me happy to go there and give my 2 hours a week. |
Yes, those are actual pictures of the mill she was living in. I have to kind of separate it in my head, or I get even more sick thinking Lane was living there. I actually heard about the mill being shut down, and I really wanted to rescue one of those dogs. It all just fell into place that APR was able to take several of the dogs in, and we were living in Buckhead at the time.

This is a rescue, not a shelter as you would typically think of it. That being said, I have seen yorkies and other toy breeds in shelters all over the US. A lot of them are pulled by rescues, but many more don't make it out.
