You really do need to watch children with yorkies. Most certainly wouldnt mean to hurt them but they just dont know.
My three yr old had never been without a yorkie. I still have to watch her closely. But she is excellent for her age, gentle, loving, and will even tell people this is the way you hold a baby. But shes 3 and has her moments, so you just cant let her go free with them.
My nieces came for a visit, wonderful girls, 5 and 7. They havent had a dog in their life. They didnt know how to hold one, sometimes trying to hold them upside down!!!! Never meaning to hurt them they just didnt know. As far as they were concerned they were a toy. |
