Thank you, everyone. I am sure your prayers are already helping Lady with her recovery...you are so kind.

I, too, have heard that Dachshunds are prone to back problems...and my DS and DIL were told that as well by the Univ Vet. Lady is long and petite, and very energetic. This happened suddenly...she was walking normally then just stopped dead in her tracks with one paw up. It was several days before the "back" trouble was apparent, however. The vet first treated her for abdominal distress and gas, until she just started falling over when they'd carry her outside for potty and my DS demanded she be looked at seriously and immediately because her back was kind of 'hunched up' instead of being flat. They were caught completely off guard...it wasn't something that came on over time. I am hoping for good news tomorrow after they get to visit with her.
