When we first got Beemer, Sadie wouldn't even stay in the same room as he was - even if it meant not being with us. It took a few days but then they started to interact. They are now the absolute best friends and don't like to be apart. Here's a picture of Sadie the day after we got Beemer. She looks like her life has ended!
I would definately give it more time. I would keep them seperated when you aren't home though. It took quite a while before I trusted mine enough to leave them together.
