When all of my three kids were young we had 2 cats and 2 dogs, roughly 10 birds, one ferret and one guinea pig. My oldest stepson worked at a pet store and brought everything home that didn't have homes. We managed well and all three boys helped out. My oldest now is married and has 2 dogs. The middle son is trying to buy a house so he can get a yorkie and the youngest is still home with the 2 dogs we have now. Kids and animals are wonderful, some of my best family pictures include one of the kids with one of the animals.
