That's exactly what Mercer does but I didn't even have tags on becausea I just wanted her to get use to the collar. She does this with the harness also so that is only on for walks then taken off. I keep trying. She litteraly cant get away at this point because I am at my Mom's and she is kept gated off unless I am on top of her, because my mom's dog is quite a bit bigger then her. When I go home beginning of May she will have more free run of the house. She is micro chipped. I just don't know what to do because I can't have her choking herself.
Thats good that she is micro chipped, that is added protection if she should ever get out and lost. I wouldn't worry so much about putting a collar on her since you use the harness for walks. Be sure to take it off when you get home so that she doesn't chew through it or leave it on and use correction commands to stop her from chewing it.

But if you are set on having her wear one... than tighten it as tight as you can get it. (that is what I had to do with Quincy) Just be sure to check it each week to see if it needs loosen as she grows. Eventually she will get use to it or give up trying to get it off.
