Maybe a draining or an incision and drainage to properly clean it out with maybe a stitch or two, dressing and antibiotics and some blood work & culture for good measure should finally put him to rights. Hopefully just the draining of the fluid is all that's necessary but if it's very angry or spreading when the surgeon sees it, he may go a bit further. Be prepared for more and that way if just the simple part is all that's necessary, you'll be pleasantly surprised. If it's not much, he'll probably just drain and pill him. I am praying for the latter! When this is all over, you deserve that vacation and the ice cream!
