Get them (I did at CVS too) he will love them. You can also fashion them out of foam, quite easily too.!!!
For the couch I have the CVS set and they are up and down all the time, also, I can remove them when I don't want them up somewhere!!!!
Also, give it a couple weeks, if he don't take to them, take em back!
