As do ALL reputable, caring, concerned breeders....many of who are also actively involved in research and genetics and the effects of concentrated line breeding anomolies from breeding the same lines over and over with no out crossing. Some reputable breeders have chosen, for WHATEVER reasons, perhaps in light of their extensive medical background, to spend most of their time and money in the area of research and genetics and trying to actually nail down genetic markers from SPECIFIC lines that have a propensity to continually throw genetically defected offspring. When a genetic marker can be identified for liver shunts, bad eyes, bad hearts, etc, THAT will do more for "improving the breed" than ANYTHING just showing a dog will do!
