If she got tangles I always keep a bottle of conditioner and water mixed up to spray on for brushing and I would just spray a little extra there and it brushed right out. I think she had a modified coat because her little rear end would always be curly.
Conditioner Spray is great and a trimmed tummy may be the solution.
