Same here we don't have a fence so Lola is never out without me, when she goes potty I have a long lead and I either stand outside or watch from inside the door. A lady down the street has maltese that would roam her property, she never really ventured off the property but the problem is there is always some loose dog or two running around. One time she was in heat and a much larger dog went after her and left her in pretty bad shape
. So sad they would let a small dog in heat roam loose.
I wonder if they give the dogs away, I hate to say it especially since I have a yorkie mix, but the pictures I have in my head of a yorkie daushaund mix are a little big scary, hopefully they look more like a yorkie
