  That was my point. 

I didn't mean that feeding them chicken would lead to a weight gain. My dh and I fed our furbutts bites from our plates (people food) and they managed to sucker us in every night at dinner. Now three out of five are overweight and on diets. 

The cat isn't too skinny either. 
 
 
I regret EVER letting them have people food. 

If I had it to do over again I would not do it at all. I would reserve giving them boiled chicken for when they are sick and need to be tempted in order to keep them safe.
