I always interview my new owners vets also, just to re-inforce that I am an RN who is very well aware of temperature ranges for vaccines, and I know how to give injections. I sign my health certs with my professional signature. In 10 years, I have only had one vet not work with the new owner, and new owner did not listen to my advise. He re-vaccinated the puppy, gave the baby Lepto. injection, the baby had an anaphylactic reaction, died on the way home from the vet....and then the owner wanted me to refund her money!
As a pet owner and member of a rescue organization that does vet checks to determine responsible pet ownership I would willingly allow a vet check to ensure a rescue or breeder that I was a responsible pet owner. But I would draw the line at having a breeder try to dictate to my vet how vaccines should be given. If a breeder is try to short cut on vaccines what other vetting are they short cutting on? Once again, we see a breeder blaming the owner. I can see the vet's feeling the need to re-vaccinating a puppy out of precaution. It makes no difference if you are an RN as this does not give you "special permission" to cross the line into practicing veterinary medicine. You hold yourself in too high esteem and crossed a line that should not be crossed by inserting yourself into a place that you do not belong. As an RN you should know this is a HUGE no~no to overstep your place in the medical care of a doctors patient in this case a puppy. That's a real leap~wow!

As for blaming the vet for over vaccinating, rescues will also vaccinate when a new foster comes their care. This is done for the sole reason that PEOPLE ARE DISHONEST.

Vaccinations are medical decisions to be made jointly by owner and veterinarian. Breeder can give insight to buyer, but no breeder should insert themselves into the medical advice given to an owner by their veterinarian who is the one who is licensed to practice veterinary medicine. I also have no interest in having my breeder "interview" my vet - that's just weird.
I couldn't agree more with your stance!
