With my gang I had to fence off an area for my older 2 cats as the gang loved to torment them.
I had a bad experience with Kelsey. My parents cat scratched his eye and he was bleeding really bad and i had to go to the vet and get a special ointment for him. Their cat could've taken Kelsey's eye out, how scary! IMO most cats dont like dogs or children bothering with them. Mixing the two together and expecting the dog to learn to like them is wrong I think... My sister was smart and got both her cat and dog together when they were babies so they love eachother and play with one another. A lot of cats are territorial and use their claws as their defense. I know declawing is probablly painful, but i'm sure they have a method of medicating them so they dont feel it. Also if they're indoor cats and they dont like your dog, you'd have to think of other alternatives to keep them away etc.....
