I don't want to highjack the OP's thread further; so will comment on this. I can be reached privately if anyone is interested. I have 10 years experience feeding Prey Model Raw, and if you look up earlier posts, was one of the first to broach the subject here. There is a wealth of information on RAW feeding on the internet, including a PMR group here with a link to a yahoo group of thousands of members, ranging from pet owners to show and service animals.

I had a mix that I switched to PMR in his 8th year, because everything else made him ill. When we had to help him across the Rainbow Bridge at 17, his teeth were pearly white, and NO bad breathe at all. I marvelled, as did the vet. He'd never had a teeth cleaning. Abigail, however, at 6, has had one cleaning, but her vet comments: "Teeth look very good - for a yorkie" .

I will conclude by saying I no longer feed PMR, though it is my belief that if it works for your dog, it is the best natural diet for a canine. I have both my yorkies on Primal Raw, and they are doing very well.
