I think that in addition to people checking out the breeders, the breeders need to check out the buyers.
This is nothing personal with anyone...it just seems to come up quite frequently and in what I do I see far too many yorkies ending up in rescue for ridiculous reasons that could have been avoided and often wonder how the people got them. |
I suppose the best they can do is a background check. As it turns out, a lot of breeders do have a life of their own and most likely cannot visit every single household, but they do their best to determine through other means. While I do agree with you 100% that background checks should be done from both parties involved, I think that the people who end up putting the dogs in rescues most likely did not get their dog from a reputable breeder. As far as I am concerned, I would not ever accept a puppy if I wasn't able to care for him/her, so suggesting that I was private messaged on an unjust account seems rather harsh (regardless, it does seem a bit personal
). I am doing my absolute best to pick the best breeder for me, just as I am sure the breeder I choose will do a secure check on my intentions as well as the home I plan to provide to my puppy. I understand that there are many people out there who may neglect their Yorkies, or any puppies for that matter, but I can assure you that I am not one of them. I am glad that you are concerned, but my private message has nothing to do with the breeders lack of concern for where her puppies go
