Cry Kennel Cough

I took Cloey in for her shots almost 3 weeks ago, along with getting her dangly back dew claws removed. She started to cough about a week after the visit. So I took her in with her cough while getting stitches removed. The vet said its just a side affect of the kennel cough drops vaccine they put in her nose. Ive had past dogs get this and they only coughed for a few days after.
Well its been nearly 3 weeks and now poor Cloey is coughing up a lung and puking up any water she may have drank. I called the vet back, they got her some anitbiotics. But she coughs that up as well. Vet said there isnt anything else they can give her since it is viral. Any ideas?
I read online that puting her in the bathroom while I shower helps open her airway. But she doesnt seem to be getting better and I feel so bad that she hacks all the time Is there something I can give her to help calm her cough so the antibiotics stay down?
