Thank you all so much for all the kind words you have said about me and my family. Mom found her and she was still at the old owners house...she convinced the lady to sell her a a decent price and took her home. Mom said she would have paid anything just to get her away. If was after we got her home that we found out about all of the abuse. She was in a home with eleven other dogs, the smallest next to Jolene was about 65 pounds. They all were fed out of one large pan...once a day, and the cheapest stuff on the market. mom said the kibble was so large she couldn't even put it in her mouth. She was kept outside as the owner didn't want a "yapper" in her house, althought the great dane had a bed of his own!!! She started pooping blood...huge amounts...the day after we got her home. Took her to the vet where she was found to be impacted with sticks and grass in her intestines and had a broke jaw and ribs that were healing. She had a lot of work done and was on antibiotics for a long time, and continued to have bowel problems for a while. Of course dry kibble was out of the question, so that is how she started eating her wet food. She has come soooo far, no food aggressions (surprisingly), pottypad trained, but ohhh sooo protective. I begged and begged for mom to let her come live with me, and finally, she relented. Mom needs a knee replacement and really couldn't take care of her the way she wants, so I finally got the gem to be my own. I couldnt love her more!! I am now learning to sew so she can have a great wardrobe as she LOVES wearing clothes.
Again, thanks sooo much for all the encouragement and words of kindness. I am blessed to a member of such a wonderful group.

Jen and Jolene
