Default My poor fat baby :(

Yuri is part min pin part chihuahua, I got him from my husbands cousin when she bough 2 puppies one Christmas on impulse, and figured out a couple weeks later she couldn't handle it.

We had a horrible time feeding him from the time he was a puppy, he's just a horribly picky eater. Eventually he got to where he would eat ok but not easily. He was super thin when we got him, but he ended up looking totally buff. I guess more of a min pin build with floppy ears.

We moved to Oklahoma. I was staying with my sister, Kassie's kids while she was at work and Yuri and I spent a LOT of time with my sister and her family. Kassie started sneaking him bites. I'd grumble at her but she just kept doing it. I thought at the time that it was just a bite here and there and didn't really think it was her fault when he started gaining weight, because he had been fixed shortly before we moved, and I know they can pack a bit on when they get fixed, but he just kept gaining...

Then I caught Yuri with his own plate of cake and ice cream at my nieces bday. I flipped out on her. I couldn't believe she gave him that. I told her she had to stop, that I didn't want her giving him a single bite of ANYTHING. She seemed to think it was cute and funny he was getting fat, and said "but it makes him happy!" I told her when he ended up diabetic I was bringing him to her every day for his shots.

What really gets me is she has weight problems. She has since she was 16. She KNOWS what a difference weight can make in the way you feel. My sis still doesn't get it but shes stopped, Now she tells him to ask me then coos at him about how I said no and I'm sooo mean when he runs over to me and begs and I say no. He's starting to get a little better, but his energy levels are still a lot lower than before and he's still tubby I miss my energetic playfull boy.

I'm sure he still gets people food from time to time being in a house full of kids, but not nearly so much. Hopefully He'll get back to his old self eventually and out of his lazy old grouchy mood.
