Looking For Feedback (long) I have been a loyal follower of Purina especially Proplan but due to the fact they refuse to voluntary recall the poisonous jerky China treats I am going to do a boycott of Nestle Purina. My Zoey is very sick in CRF from these treats.
Buddy is on Proplan Performance. The yorkies are on a mixture of Blue Buffalo and Wellness Healthy weight- Vet originally thought my poor Zoey's CRF was genetic. Buddy is getting low on his food but seems okay with the Wellness when he gets into it. He learned how to open the container when I am not looking and he is still hungry. Roxy hates the Wellness and picks the pieces out and drops them on the floor for Buddy to eat. Lucy and Cozy would eat cardboard. Buddy will only eat his kibble with a little something mixed in but loves their food.
Zoey is on prescription Purina NF- She won't eat other kidney dog food so I am stuck til I find foods she will eat that the holistic, nutritionist vet can built a home made diet for her around her ever changing preferences.
I am starting from scratch basically. I would like to get the yorkies (except Zoey) and Buddy onto the same food. Before Zoey got sick the goal was to get everyone on to Proplan but that is out now.
I know my previous Golden, Lucky, could not tolerate Blue Buffalo and Buddy has a very delicate tummy generally so Blue Buffalo is out.
I got samples of dog foods- So far only tried TOTW Wetlands everyone seems to like it.
The clerk at the store was going on and on about Honest Kitchen. I could easily afford to feed this to the yorkies but not Buddy. I don't mind mixing to feed.
Would TOTW Wetland with Honest Kitchen as a topper work? I still need to verify the ingredients are sourced in the US and not China. Both website claim they are made in the US.
I would consider almost any American made and sourced US pet food. Actual raw and homemade cooking would be too complicated for me especially right now with Zoey needing so much TLC.
Any feedback would be appreciated. Please try to be positive. |
