My Yorkie "Bosun" does it all the time when he get excited. Especially, when my kids come over to visit or one of the neighbors that he likes. (Of course, to him, anyone that comes to visit is to see him). My vet also reassures us that it is nothing to worry about, however, another Yorkie owner had told us they lost a Yorkie doing that and actually had a heart attack. Again, my vet said that could not had been true. Someone also told me to put something in front of his nose to force him to breath through his mouth. That works sometimes. Good luck.
