Actually I keep dry food down for her all the time. Not a bunch......and she never eats all of it. I tried the two meal a day thing and she seemed to eat it so fast that she would make herself sick so we decided to try this approach. Usually she will eat some before she goes to bed, but not too much. She has been a difficult one to figure out as far as the best way to feed her. I'm hoping that it will just require a change in diet and that it is nothing serious. I'm on high alert right now because we just lost our little Sheltie to Kidney failure. We didn't even know there was anything wrong with her..........she started acting like her leg was hurting, developed very bad breath and within a week, we had to have her put down! She was only eight and had always been SO healthy (or so we thought). Our vet is a good guy.........he will do anything I ask. The last time he gave her some medicine and in cleared up...........it just seems to come and go so I need to figure this out.
