I just scissor about a 1-2 inch diameter circle around 'the spot' on the back side after a bath...it seems easier then while the hair is a bit wet. If there is a lot of growth further down and that little clip doesn't do it...and I am seeing a bit of that with Mia now, and a little messiness once in a while...maybe a little more trimming lower...toward the legs. I've been thinking maybe just a little thinning or a little more trimming back there but so that her tail and tail hair covers it. At most, you'd only need to do a strip about 1-2 inches wide straight down from the tail...which wouldn't look bad. That works on my friend's full (show) coated Shih Tzu. I've never done any trimming on the lady bits themselves...and only do very minimal trimming on Brody's boy bits.
