I'm so sorry this happened but I'm so glad for you that you where able to get them treated to prevent further complications. This is not unique. The rabies is one of the most potent vaccines we give to our pets, it has great potential for adverse reactions. You might read this blog it has important info regarding this subject....

This should be documented in your dogs files. You might want to consider an exemption so they don't have to have any more. The risk of another reaction increases with addition vaccines....It looks like N.Y. allows for this.
