Just start small. That's what a few of us did here in Chicago. We have yet to meet with out dogs but we have had lunch a few times. It was a good time and lots of laughs. Try doing a search for your area and add in Yorkie Meet UP. You might be surprised at what you find.

My other suggestion is to look for a Yorkie rescue in your area. Many rescue could use volunteers at local Petco/Petsmarts for adoption events. Their are very passionate, dog loving people in their organizations that would love your help.

Prior to being a member of YHR, there was another rescue that I volunteered with and they always did Petco events. It's actually a good time. You might not be able to bring your dog along but you get to meet other people with your same passion and spend a little time with their fosters. If you are a social person it's a fun few hours of talking to the customers in the store about the breed and even doing a little education. When someone comes up to you to chat about a foster, they are all ears and willing to listen.
