Lynn, are you serious? I think it should be the owner's option to microchip or not to microchip. I will say however that lately on the news there are numerous stories of abandoned and abused pets and maybe this is the city's way of ensuring they hold pet owners accountable (?).

Romeo was microchipped when we got him and just recently I updated all my contact information again.. I wish the microchip had GPS so they can be tracked the the exact location!
