I adopted Teddy in February, 2012. He is the World's Sweetest Puppy, and I love him dearly. I was told, when I was inquiring about him, that he had a super thick coat, and that he would be blue and gold as an adult. I picked him up, and honestly, he didn't look anything like I expected him too. However, I love him to pieces, and I'm JUST CURIOUS as to what to expect from his coat. Right now, he's 5 1/2 months old. His puppy coat is VERY wirey and thin feeling. There seems to be a silk coat coming in behind it.
Yorkie enthusiasts, please help me! LOL I know Golden Retrievers, not Yorkies.

Is is possible and/or likely that this thin, wirey coat is here to stay, or will it grow out with a thicker, softer coat? I can find a picture of his momma, but not his daddy.
It really doesn't matter (other than I am curious if we will always fight about him going outside to potty in winter, lol)
Thanks y'all! I'll attach a few photos so you can see what I'm talking about.
