There have been many studies on this and a picture really is worth a thousand words! I would love to help find a dog a new home faster just by simply catching it's personality in a picture!
sometimes pictures really don't do the rescue dogs justice... I took many of our friends rescue dog Emmy and she looked like a different dog!
Here's a good example of the before and after pictures. One taken by a rescue another by a free photographer who volunteered for the rescue.
