Just curious~don't you place a band in the hair and then put the bow on top the your topknot? There is no excuse why 7 bands would have broken while placing on the already make topknot. Personally, I always use clip on bows. I make my topknot and then clip the bow on the front through the hair. It stays in place until I want to take it out and it's always nice and straight.
