I for one will not sell a dog on open registration. I did have a pet person ask me why breeders do that because to them it is as if the breeder is making that choice for you , and they would rather make that decision themselves. My response was this. Some breeders work a long time at establishing the look and type they want that closely resembles the standard and there are too many unscrupulous people out there that are basically thinking of only the money side of it all. But we know there isn't much to be made in breeding if you are doing it the right way. I then added when you adopt a dog from the shelter or a rescue the dog comes spayed or neutered so why is that different than getting a dog from a responsible breeder and them expecting it to be done. |
Also, if you take my puppy, whose parents have had every test known to modern medicine, and who practically has blue blood flowing through his/her veins, and breed him/her to Aunt Tizzys little yorkie she found wandering down the street, and you end up with three legged pups that have liver shunts, and blind in one eye, you will be running all over town telling people my breeding program throws babies with genetic abnormalities! NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!! Tooo much time, education, work, and sleepless nights have gone into my puppies!
