Both Sprockets dam and sire are registered with what looks like DNA #'s after the registration #. Those who know, can you tell me, or tell me where to ask why? Thanks so much. | When a responsible breeder has a litter of pups most times they are using a stud from certain long standing lines. Alot of work has gone into producing the best example of the standard , so to protect the stud owners lines, or your lines it is best to have any pups you are not keeping for show registered on limited registration and /or fixed before they go to their new homes. I for one will not sell a dog on open registration. I did have a pet person ask me why breeders do that because to them it is as if the breeder is making that choice for you , and they would rather make that decision themselves. My response was this. Some breeders work a long time at establishing the look and type they want that closely resembles the standard and there are too many unscrupulous people out there that are basically thinking of only the money side of it all. But we know there isn't much to be made in breeding if you are doing it the right way. I then added when you adopt a dog from the shelter or a rescue the dog comes spayed or neutered so why is that different than getting a dog from a responsible breeder and them expecting it to be done.
