Glad to hear that he's settling in so well and already forming an attachment to you.
It's great that you're thinking ahead and touching his paws in preparation for future nail trimming. I did the same with ZoE. I made a point to touch her paws, ears and mouth daily for the first month. Our vet really appreciated it as ZoE was, & still is, very easy for him to examine.
