Sometimes there is a choice of injection location. I wouldn't be worried about it being given IM unless you know for sure that that vaccine shouldn't be.
Not sure why some vets are still vaccinating for corona, but other than that nothing sounds too strange to me. They did say to let them know if the bloating didn't get any better. I don't use pepto for my dogs, so not sure if it can help with bloating, but my assumption is that it does.
