I used "safe" and natural Vet's Best spray for fleas and ticks while in SW Louisiana last summer (including a house in the country with horses and cows on property). It was a lot of work bc I keep the girls' hair long, and we still ended up with fleas. Unfortunately, anything naturel just doesn't have the staying power of insecticides and parasiticides.
Our locally owned pet/feed stores are recommending K9 Advantix II. Because it repels fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, etc. Unlike other topicals in which the bugwuggies have to burrow thru the hair, get down to the skin, and in some cases, bite them to be killed.
I've done a lot of research on flea/ticks options, and while I don't yet have it put into a form ready for posting, I'd be happy to share what info I have found if you have questions about specific products. |
