Wow! You poor thing. After much consideration we decided to get Gypsy, I have two big human kids (11 and 12). And two very little ones (2 and 3). So I can relate to your stress. (not dogs, but little kids can be just as dangerous to smaller breeds)
Gypsy is never allowed around the little ones without close supervision. (and I mean, someone standing and following wherever Gypsy goes). My daughter, 11 years old, has Gypsy's kennel/bed in her room, and Gypsy and her are inseparable. During family time if the littlest ones are running about, we'll just set up Gypsy's kennel in that room. Either Gypsy is in someone's lap or in her kennel. Luckily she's such a good girl, she doesn't mind. Especially since she gets lots of playtime outside or in my daughter's room with supervision, but separate from the littlest kids. |
