Parents play a role in the weight of the puppies, but so does the grandparents and greatgrandparents, is all in the genetic code, I have puppies that were produced from my 8.9 pounds male and my 10 pound girl, both silky terriers, that range in weight from 6 pounds all the way to 15 pounds, so parents weight is not a reliable source, I tell that to my posible adoptive parents,
