I have both the dam and sire who at the time of breeding were 10lbs and 9lbs. I kept one of their pups who now weighs 19lbs. She was the largest of the litter but her litter mate that a frined of mine has is only 7lbs.

So from experience I can say it does not madder what size they are.

You are more likely to get smaller pups if you have smaller female and male. Typically the female should be of equal weight or larger.
