that idea is good.. Sorry to hear about your son so late Rhonda my prays and thoughts are with you.. when I had my knee done I did the same thing and knocked a stich out because it was itchy.. I went to rite aid and bought the surgical bandage it's clear. It's the one that looks like the IV tape. you can buy gauze and put it under.. then wrap it.. or you can get the kiddy bradages put them over the stiches.. or you could get the ace bandage that has no clips and tape the end.. i think they call it a soft cast.. good luck..
