Melon takes me to Acapulco where any time we visited, we were served melon with whatever kind of breakfast or lunch ordered. Fried shrimp always takes me to childhood vacations to Galveston Island. Hot cocoa with mini-marshmallows and cinnamon and a tot of brandy, I'm at any ski resort I've ever been to. BBQ, even though I live in Texas, takes me to Red River, New Mexico. Beef jerky of a horseback trail-ride around the mountains of Purgatory, Colorado. Those are just some of the food-vacation memories that jump to mind.
