my girl's bill lists a vaccine of dhlpp and also bordatella that she got when she went for 15 month old visit. dhlpp googles out to be...distempter, hepatitis, lepto, parvo and parainfluenza . " Although not required by law, the DHLPP vaccine is one of the most important shots a dog can receive because it inoculates the animal against Parvo, a common and often fatal disease of the small intestine. The DHLPP vaccine is typically administered as a series of booster shots during a puppy's first few months, and then given annually throughout the remainder of a dog's life."
She did have a reaction, but someone said that the lepto vaccine can cause pain. A little aspirin and she was good.
My point was that someone said something about too many vaccines at once. The dhlpp seems to be a compound vaccine, sort of like people babies get dpt shots. Maggie was about 8.5 pound, so maybe she is big enough for a compound and maybe tiny dogs shouldn't get it. I do like the idea of fewer shots and fewer visits to get them.
Hope they figure out Cali's cause so you know if she can continue to be vaccinated in the future.
Also, my baby gets groomed at Petsmart, takes lots of neighborhood walks and occasional walks on trails in the woods, so I think she needs her vaccines because she is exposed to a lot.
