I started with the iPad 1 upgraded to the 2 and was very glad I did. It is much faster in speed. However, I think I am going to skip the 3. The main difference is the resolution and that isn't enough for me to fork over the cash. That said if your is under the return policy I would certainly return it and get the latest and greatest. The price is the same so you won't have to hand over more cash
