I do not take Katie Scarlett out when it is really cold either. She just shakes and shivers at the slightest breeze and it breaks my heart to watch her shiver. When we first got her and she had not had her full round of shots, we practiced walking on the leash around the inside of the house. I wanted her to get used to walking with the leash. Then as soon as she was able, we started outdoor walks. On rainy days or days when it is too cold, sometimes I will take her to Petco, Petsmart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc...just anywhere that I can take her in with me and she can walk.
