[QUOTE=Ellie May;3845489]Sounds like it will be okay.

Yup, the internet is not a good place for nutrition advice... Dehydrated or not - if it's 30% dry matter, it's 30% dry matter. Way too high for Yorkies.

I used to get away with giving Ellie a lot of questionable things too - until one day she just couldn't take it anymore. Not worth the risk.

The vet could (and should) give you an rx food for now. Then you could talk about what to switch over to later

The thing I dont understand is if this is a questionable food how can some get away with feeding a raw diet when there is fat on meat. Or there is yorkiedaze who homecooks and has for like 50 yrs without incident. IIm not questioning you at all Im really curious about this. I know we are taking a chance giving ours meat I dont do it my Husband does. Hes the one that will be paying the vet bill if anything happens since I cant convince him its not worth the risk. I think he trys to make our yorkies happy with food. He says he only gives a tiny bit
