I do not leave the belly bands on at night. The skin needs to breathe, and like an infant, the dog can get a "diaper rash" if the pads are not changed frequently. You also run a greater risk of a urinary tract infection UTI if you leave the belly bands on for an extended period of time.
If you need to have them on during the night to prevent accidents, then just be sure that have time during the day when they are not wearing their bands.
