I have been giving Gracie bully sticks since she was 6 months old. She just needs to chew sometimes and if I don't have them for her she will go and find things she should not chew. I get her the 12" regular size. They are about as long as she is. She cannot bite a piece off but does gum up the end quite a bit. I throw them away when they get to be about 3". Have never had a problem but they should be taken away before they get to the point that they can fit in the mouth.
Rawhide will break off and does not digest well. I think they should be taken off the market, especially the ones that are shaped like bones. The ends come off and can cause a dog to choke or be stuck in the stomach. |
