Well I am probably on the other end of the spectrum. I try to buy my yarn on sale but generally I pay upwards of 8-20 a skein. I prefer to work with high quality yarns. And I am a perfectionist so it takes me forever to knit a sweater for my 2 and a half lber!! If I were to sell that same sweater for 15-20 dollars I am losing time and money!!
On the other hand if you are buying yarn for 3.00 at Micheals and are only using 1 ball of yarn you are doing ok at 15-20 providing you knit fast. Mind you I have just started knitting so I am not really fast nor do I have hours to sit and work on one project but to me 15 dollars is ridiculous for something beautifully handmade (with emphasis on the "beautifully"). You usually get what you pay for. P.S. I do not sell my sweaters tho, I will do it only for my dogs. |
