I suggest you go strictly on personality. My Rubin's parents were both Champion Show dogs. He does not have their beautiful silky hair at all. The breeder plainly told me he would never have the show coat or perfect bite of his parents. She was right too. He stayed black and deep rust colors. I got him for much less than the other two pups in the litter. But it was not price that made me decide. He picked me.
He loved me, zap... right now. My Rubyboy just turned 9 years old and I have never been sorry that I took a boy (I thought my heart was set on a little girl !)
