My Kodie only wears his belly band when he is running around the house freely as well... since he sleeps with me... he does not have to wear a belly band. I do notice that since he will pee in the belly band that when I take it off.. he well sometimes smell.. and its kinda moist in that area... so I do see this as a health problem in the future... if you continue to put the belly band on consistantly. You have to air it out!! hehe
