Camera The Show Must Go On...Tee hee

Hey guys! Well after icing my hand all day yesterday, I am happy to report that my hand is much better today! Thanks for all of your tips on treating minor burns! You guys are the best! My hand is a little sore, but I do not think it's going to blister up or anything. I got up this morning and after my shower, put more burn cream on it and wrapped up my hand in gauze. I look like a mummy from the wrist down! LOL!

But I couldn't help myself...I had to sew! It was a bit tricky sewing with a bandaged hand. I was scared to death of catching my gauze on the needle, but after some practice, it actually wasn't too bad. LOL. Of course I'm sure I looked ridiculous, but I was bored and I had to stay busy. The hubby had to work and KS is fixed on looking out the window today, so I got to sewing.

My husband and I will be taking our first flight with Katie Scarlett in tow in a little over 2 weeks. Well of course I wanted to theme her up for the occasion....

I found this plane fabric on Etsy and bought a fabric quarter of it. I know it does not look too girly on it's own, but I was determined to make this a girly outfit. I wanted to do another jumpsuit, so here is what I came up with. I mixed in a green polka dot fabric that I got at Hobby Lobby, a orange patterned fabric that I got at Joann, and some orange ric rac/ribbon. I also added a button to my bow. On this one, I used the Town & Country pattern from Miss Daisy Designs for the bottoms and a Simplicity pattern for the top. I tweaked the MDD pattern a bit. The pattern does not require the pants to be lined, only to finish the seams. I wanted mine lined though so I lined the whole inside of the suit with the green polka dot. I just like that finished look of having the inside done. I still need to work on my ruffling on the legs, but I am getting a bit more confident with those. I also made the ruffle on the waist as wide as the pants this time. I made my own matching bow using leftover plane fabric scraps, ribbon, and a button.

Here it is...what do you think? Will KS be a fashionable flyer?

I'll take pix of her in it to share on the big day too. I know I'll probably have to leave her naked to go through security, but that doesn't mean she can't be cute when we fly and when we arrive. I thought the pantsuit might be warmer for her on the plane ride too than a dress.
